Steve Schuler

Steve lives in Baltimore and is the founder and Chair of the board of WILD. His lifelong immersion in the wonders of our natural world has provided the stimulus for creating the nonprofit and offering similar experiences and opportunity to others who have not been afforded the same treasures.

Steve is a boardmember and Treasurer of the National Park Trust, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving our national parklands and providing educational programs to youths to create park stewards for tomorrow. His work at the Park Trust was instrumental in his quest to visit all 63 of our National Parks (as of spring 2023 he is up to 40). "My journey accelerated in the summer of 2019, when I spent four weeks traveling to 9 National Parks, by campervan, in seven states and covering 4,000 miles. My first stop, of course, was Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota, in honor of the one American who has done more to preserve natural lands in the US than anyone else."

Steve is a Managing Director and chair of the Philanthropy Committee of The Colony Group. As a member of Colony’s Investment Committee, he is an integral contributor to the research efforts and selection of external managers, proprietary strategies and asset allocation models for client portfolios. He also is a Senior Wealth Advisor for a select group of clients. He is also on the investment committee for Old St. Paul's Church in Baltimore, MD.

Allison Moist

Allison is WILD’s Program Manager and facilitates the trips by guiding our groups in outdoor yoga classes, hiking, camping, educational discussions, and all things outdoor recreation. She earned her bachelor's degree in International Politics from the University of North Texas, but fell in love with nature and the outdoors when working as an Interpretive Park Ranger at Capitol Reef. She led astronomy programs, geology talks, guided hikes, and history demonstrations for several years in the National Park Service. In 2020, Allison co-founded Sleeping Rainbow Adventures, a professional tour company in Torrey, where she guided Jeep tours, backpacking excursions, stargazing tours and managed employees and operations. Having access to the outdoors like this is a privilege that she desires to help increase accessibility and share with more people, so she left the tour business to join the WILD nonprofit effort to follow this passion.

In her free time, she volunteers at the nearby Hanksville-Burpee Dinosaur Quarry in paleontological field work, volunteers on the Search and Rescue team, and enjoys backpacking and hiking. Allison is also a certified Wilderness First Responder and registered yoga instructor with over 8 years experience exploring the intricacies of the red rock desert of the Capitol Reef area.
